Amoeba Review
07/28/2020
With Miami Memory, Alex Cameron delivers one of the most distinctive indie albums of the year. Inspired by his relationship with Girls actress Jemima Kirke as well as our current disturbing, bizarre zeitgeist, Cameron assumes the role of indie rock Springsteen on these smart, home-spun songs. Tracks like “Stepdad” and "Bad for the Boys” are rich in imagery, loaded with humor, and imbued with infectious melodies — they’re the type of songs that’ll make you stop in your tracks in wonder. Miami Memory is easy to like, hard to forget, and utterly unlike anything else you’ll hear this year.
