Motherhood (CD)
No Joy
Amoeba Review
The Montréal-based No Joy's relentless sonic permutations continue on Jasamine White-Gluz's first full-length album in five years. Motherhood experiments with synthesis and reincorporated guitars, producing an album that’s not exactly a departure from No Joy's early shoegaze, but a stylistically omnivorous expansion into trip hop, trance, and even nu-metal. It’s the culmination of years composing outside of her comfort zone, and a return to DIY recording with a leveled-up expertise in production.
