Music For Man Ray [Clear Vinyl] (LP)
SQÜRL
Amoeba Review
SQÜRL's Music for Man Ray is cinematic, bold, and chiaroscuro as a photograph by the great man himself. It is, however, a bit bleaker and moodier. "The End of the World" is a glimpse of a post-apocalyptic interaction between youthful recklessness and aging detachment, the watched and the watcher. "Silver Haze" echoes that borderlands feeling, with seething urgency and restlessness bubbling up beneath the hazy melodies. Music for Man Ray dances on the thin line between beauty and horror with aplomb.
