My Mind Wanders & Sometimes Leaves Completely (LP)
Lola Young

Amoeba Review
Up-and-coming UK artist Lola Young deserves to be a superstar after the release of My Mind Wanders & Sometimes Leaves Completely. Her voice can move seamlessly from throwback belters like "What Is It About Me" to edgy '90s indie pop numbers like "Don't Hate Me." Comparisons to Amy Winehouse, Adele, and Billie Eilish have been plentiful, and while you can certainly pick up on elements of all these artists' styles, Young is one-of-a-kind, with a distinctive style and tracks that'll make you sit up and take notice. My Mind Wanders has moments of vulnerability that will serve as an arrow to the heart, lyrics that are truly imaginative, and melodies that will have these tracks on repeat.
