Mythopoetics (CD)
Half Waif
Amoeba Review
The talented Nandi Rose returns for her fifth album under the Half Waif moniker, the stunning Mythopoetics. This eclectic collection of songs transitions seamlessly from sweetness to desolation, from stripped down ballads to shimmering synth toe-tappers. Each composition is lush in its instrumentation, with swooning vocals and emotive washes of sound. Rose’s lyrics are also an aural feast, with her songwriting seemingly able to tap into the human experience on a whole level beyond what other songwriters can convey. Transcendent, surprising, and utterly brilliant.
