Night Parade Of One Hundred Demons [Gold Vinyl] (LP)
Earthless
Amoeba Review
Earthless returns with the delightfully psychedelic Night Parade of One Hundred Demons. You might think an album named after the night in a Japanese folktale in which demons and ghosts descend on peaceful villages is just another, albeit more creative, instance of heavy rock’s predilection for gore and horror, but Earthless’ latest is so much more. “It’s the fear of the unknown,” bassist Mike Eginton explains. Indeed, these sinister songs do pack an emotional and sonic wallop, the tracks oozing paranoia and brutality…in a rough-and-tumble, riotously fun fashion. It’s a fitting soundtrack to these days, with a grand narrative arc that might just help you headbang some of your issues out.
