The Amity Affliction's Not Without My Ghosts is an epic, brutal odyssey from start to finish. "Show Me Your God" opens the album with a deceptively angelic intro before launching into intense, heavy vocals and segueing into a dramatic, melodic chorus. "I See Dead People" features punishing percussion and brooding guitar, with haunting guest vocals from the late New Zealand rapper Louie Knuxx. Album closer/title track "Not Without My Ghosts" features a guest appearance from Phem, the first female vocalist on an Amity Affliction album, which adds a melancholic beauty to this ultimately cathartic track. A powerful, emotionally devastating album that'll take you from the shadows into the light.
