Octoberland (LP)
The Armoires
Amoeba Review
The bright, airy pop-laced rock of Burbank indie pop-rockers The Armoires takes you away to Octoberland. Band and Big Stir label founders Christina Bulbenko & Rex Broome are in lockstep, blending accessible rock hooks with a carefree tone, radiant harmonies and playful melodies. Octoberland’s joyful mood is lifted further by the viola of Bulbenko’s daughter Larysa, and the rhythm section of bassist Clifford Ulrich and drummer John Borack adds a Cure-like backbone to the songs that keep the music moving all the way through the album.
