This year there are three Record Store Day Drops, each with a different selection of limited edition releases available only at indie record stores. The second drop is on Saturday, September 26th and we are excited to have Amoeba San Francisco open again! Amoeba Berkeley and Amoeba Hollywood remain closed.

For this drop on September 26, Amoeba SF will be open at 9am and Amoeba.com will start selling RSD titles at 10am PT. We won't be able to carry every title on the lists this year due to the extremely limited nature of the releases. As always with these limited edition titles, there are no pre-orders or holds allowed and there is a limit of 1 copy per title per person.

Please note: Due to local government restrictions currently in place to help limit the spread of COVID-19, we are temporarily unable to ship international orders.  

To ensure Amoeba.com can handle a large influx of traffic on this Drop, a tech team is helping us further optimize our servers and we did additional load testing. However, there is no clear way to predict exactly what kind of traffic we'll get on 9/26 or how the site will respond, so we also have a backup plan in place in case traffic overwhelms the site again. If we need to use our backup plan, we will make an announcement about that on 9/26 through our social channels. We’re doing all we can and hoping for a smooth RSD Drop on Sept 26.

Amoeba San Francisco RSD Details:

On 9/26, Amoeba San Francisco is opening at 9am and will use a menu system for RSD titles, rather than putting them on the floor as in year's past. Customers who want RSD titles will line up outside in the morning, wearing a face covering and maintaining 6ft of social distance from one another, and fill out their menus. If you don't want the limited edition Record Store Day titles, you are welcome to come in the store and shop normally.

Amoeba staffers will collect the menus in order and give customers a clip to retrieve their bag. It is very important that you hang on to this clip as it is how you will pick up your RSD items.

We will fill each customer's request for RSD items in order to ensure that the items are being sold fairly according to their place in line. Once the bags are filled, they will be waiting for the customer at the registers. Hand the cashier your clip to claim your bag and the cashier will do the rest. You can go over your menu, compare it to what's in the bag, and put back any items you may not want at that time.

Safety Protocols:

Amoeba SF is following all the health and safety guidelines from the City of San Francisco, including social distancing and mandatory wearing of face coverings over the nose and mouth. Hand sanitizer stations are placed at the entrance and around the store. We kindly ask that you use hand sanitizer before entering the store.
