How To Help Ukraine

In the weeks since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began on February 24, we have all witnessed the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and seen the horrendous images from the war. The UN estimates that more than 10 million people -- nearly a quarter of the population of Ukraine -- have now been forced from their homes, and there are approximately 3.5 million refugees seeking safety and security in neighboring countries. The Director General of the UN migration agency, IOM, has said that “the scale of human suffering and forced displacement due to the war far exceeds any worst-case scenario planning."

The IOM agency says the most pressing needs include medicines, health services, and financial resources. We have put together a list of organizations who are working to address the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. Any amount you can donate, no matter how small, is greatly needed.

CareCARE

CARE is raising money for its Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Fund to provide immediate aid and recovery, food, water, hygiene kits, psychosocial support, and cash assistance — prioritizing women and girls, families, and the elderly. The humanitarian organization aims to raise $20 million and help at least 4 million Ukrainians. Donate to CARE here.

World Central KitchenWorld Central Kitchen

World Central Kitchen was founded in 2010 by chef José Andrés after the devastating earthquake in Haiti. Today, they are the first to the frontlines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises. In response to the ongoing and evolving humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, World Central Kitchen has expanded to distribute food to five countries, including 24/7 meal distributions at all eight border crossings from Ukraine to Poland. Donate to World Central Kitchen here.

Voices of ChildrenVoices of Children

The Voices of Children Foundation has been helping children affected by the war since 2015. They provide psychological and psychosocial support to children affected by the armed conflict through art therapy, video storytelling & more. During the Russian invasion of Ukraine, they are providing non-stop assistance to affected children and families from all over the country, providing emergency psychological assistance, and assisting in the evacuation process. Donate to Voices of Children here.
