Have you heard about Giving Tuesday? It's a global movement to inspire generosity and reimagine a world built on our shared humanity. It falls on the Tuesday following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and encourages people and organizations to donate to their favorite charities. For this year's Giving Tuesday, Amoeba Hollywood will donate 10% of the proceeds from store sales on December 3, 2024 to Food on Foot. It's a great way to get a jump on your holiday shopping while helping our community and giving something back!

Amoeba is a proud supporter of Food on Foot, which is a nonprofit dedicated to assisting unhoused and low-income neighbors in Los Angeles with nutritious meals, clothing, and a fresh start through life-skills training, full-time employment, and permanent housing. With minimal overhead and dedicated volunteers, $0.97 of every dollar given to Food on Foot goes directly to the program and finding jobs and homes for those in need and their weekly servings. 

Amoeba recently sponsored a Food on Foot serving at the Hollywood LQBT Center. The Amoeba crew distributed food, clothing, and essential supplies to 350 unhoused and low-income neighbors. We also met and heard stories from the participants in the Food on Foot Jobs & Housing program, including two graduates who spoke about their struggles that lead them to homelessness and the journey back off the streets, having earned their way to full-time jobs and fully-furnished apartments. It was an inspiring day!
