Join Amoeba Hollywood and our friends at dublab for a full day of curated music and dance at the Hollywood & Vine stage at CicLAvia: Koreatown meets Hollywood presented by Metro Sunday, April 6th from 9am to 4pm!

 

CicLAvia is a non-profit organization that has been opening streets throughout LA County since 2010 to encourage everyone to experience car-free open streets. Enjoy the pop-up park for the day in your favorite people-powered way, whether that's walking, jogging, biking, roller skating, skating, or simply spectating! All ages and abilities are welcome.

 

Bike, skate or walk on over to the Hollywood & Vine stage on April 6th and enjoy this amazing line-up made possible with generous support from Metro.

 

 


 

 

9am  GROOV3 

GROOV3 is an LA based, dance fitness company that has been making dance accessible to the masses for over a decade. Join local instructor Mychele Sims and DJ Shai for a block-party feat. short dance demos happening every 15 minutes and a DJ-fueled celebration in-between. Come get your groove on and DANCE IN THE STREET!

 

 

 

 

 


 

 

10am  WADOOD  dj set 

Wadood is a musician and designer from Cairo, Egypt. Currently based in LA, he spends time listening to and playing music, reading and being outside. His interests include architectural heritage, archival items + artifacts, anime, cats and futbol. He hopes to explore musical traditions to better understand identity and use music as a vehicle for collective expression and community building.

 

 

 

 

 


 

11am  MYSTICAL JOYRIDE

Mystical Joyride isn’t just a band—it’s an intergalactic vibe shift. Blending the spiritual with the ratchet, this genre-fluid spaceship beams down psychedelic beats, world grooves, and pure joy.  Formed by power couple Leah Van King (musical royalty, daughter of The Commodores’ William King) and Joel Van Dijk (multi-instrumentalist & secret weapon behind Aloe Blacc), Mystical Joyride is here to make you think, feel, and MOVE. Their live shows are a full-body experience - contemplation, meditation, and pure rhythmic elevation!

 

 

 


 

 

12pm  DJ KERRY

For over 20 years, DJ Kerry has been carving out her own niche in LA’s underground scene and a driving force behind some unforgettable parties ( Nitty Gritty, Rice & Beats, Hang Together, and The Basement). Her sets transcend eras and genres, blending the anthemic and familiar with the obscure and otherworldly, captivating dancers and elevating parties to unparalleled heights.

 

 

 

 


 

1pm  PEARL & THE OYSTERS 

Pearl & The Oysters is the Los Angeles-based, French expatriate duo Juliette Pearl Davis & Joachim Polack. These international adventurers in eclectic pop, crash-landed their starship in Los Angeles in the year 2020. Born and schooled in Paris, the couple launched a nomadic romance fueled by music that would later see them crooning in New York jazz clubs, then wading the swampy waters of American DIY art rock in Gainesville, Florida. Today in L.A., the band's evolving sound complements a buoyant moment in a scene where their brand of space age jazz-pop is more than welcome.

2pm  DISCOTCHARI dj set

Discotchari is a portmanteau of “disco” and the folk dance “kotchari” and is Zachary Asdourian and Anaïs Gyulbudaghyan; together they together they celebrate Armenian music produced in diaspora outposts and strongholds around the world. Functioning as a record label and performing act, they host a monthly radio show, promote events, and share discoveries on their YouTube and Instagram channels.  

 

 

 

 


 

 

3pm  PHOTAY & CELIA HOLLANDER 

Celia Hollander is an LA-based electronic composer, producer, and artist whose work spans releases on Leaving Records, Recital, and Noumenal Loom. She has performed and exhibited at venues like MOCA (LA), Basilica Hudson (NY), and Grace Cathedral (SF) and currently teaches at CalArts' Herb Alpert School of Music. Her compositions extend to film, TV, live performance, and VR. Photay (alias of Evan Shornstein) defies easy categorization, crafting music that blends organic warmth with electronic exploration. His sound, shaped by nature and movement—whether physical, emotional, or philosophical—resonates across genres, always rooted in a deep, elemental energy.

 

 

 


 

Amoeba Hollywood will be open 11am-9pm on Sunday, April 6th. Please note, the streets immediately surrounding Amoeba will be open as usual, but there are several street closures nearby, including Vine Street. The entrance to the El Centro parking garage on Argyle Blvd, just half a block south of the store, will be open that day. As always, we validate for the El Centro parking garage for 75 minutes with purchase. Or take the metro! The Hollywood/Vine stop on the metro B (red line) is directly across the street from Amoeba.
