Palomino (CD)
First Aid Kit
Amoeba Review
Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit has released one of their best efforts yet, combining their usual Americana/folk sound with some impressive pop songwriting. Their latest, Palomino, is utterly bewitching, with sublime harmonies and melodies that weave a detailed emotional tapestry. Keening strings and buoyant horns add depth and moments of surprising beauty as rhythmic guitars propel the tracks forward. The lyrics hit home as the sisters sing of disappointment, wasted time, and a desire to do better. Palomino is an album that’s easy to love for fans new and old alike.
