Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit has released one of their best efforts yet, combining their usual Americana/folk sound with some impressive pop songwriting. Their latest, Palomino, is utterly bewitching, with sublime harmonies and melodies that weave a detailed emotional tapestry. Keening strings and buoyant horns add depth and moments of surprising beauty as rhythmic guitars propel the tracks forward.
