Constant Smiles makes their Sacred Bones label debut with the assured, autumnal Paragons. Over the course of their career, the band has shown remarkable dexterity in moving between genres on each new outing, crafting a series of independent releases that find the act moving from moody shoegaze to dark synth-driven post-punk. On their latest, Ben Jones and crew are working with Yo La Tengo-esque melodies and krautrock influences to create an album that inspires that perfect mix of late fall nostalgia and reflection. The ideal soundtrack for sitting near a crackling fireplace and dreaming about what could’ve been and what’s still yet to be.
