Perfect Saviors (CD)
The Armed
Amoeba Review
Perfect Saviors is the epic new rock 'n roll album from the unstoppable Detroit punks The Armed. The band combines hardcore, power-pop, noise, and what feels like early '00s indie sleaze into a rollicking, raucous good time. "Everything's Glitter" sets the tone early on, with ultra-catchy riffs, angsty vocals, and a tidal wave of sound. Things get a bit weirder on "Sport of Form," with its seething, downbeat intro that quickly morphs into a brutal sonic assault. "Liar 2" is a pissed off anthem, an earworm imbued with frustration and insolence. The eclectic, dynamic Perfect Saviors feels like a much-needed jolt to the indie/punk worlds.
