Planet X [Galaxy Colored Vinyl] (LP)
Red Ribbon
Amoeba Review
Recorded under her Red Ribbon moniker, LA songwriter Emma Danner has created a truly compelling and intriguing new album, Planet X. The album was produced in large part by doom metal studio wizard Randall Dunn (Sunn O))), Earth, Marissa Nadler) and the result is an atmospheric, left-of-center exploration of the fragility of life and love. The melodies are surprising and haunting, backwoods western twang sometimes cutting through Danner’s honey-voiced darkness, her shimmering vocals drenched in distant, dreamy reverb. Planet X is a world all its own. If you dig otherworldly, Lynchian vibes, this album is a must-hear.
