Pompeii [Yellow Vinyl] (LP)
Cate Le Bon
Amoeba Review
Cate Le Bon’s Pompeii is the ideal soundtrack for our turbulent, transformative time. Le Bon draws inspiration from ‘80s era Japanese city pop basslines, “jazz-thinking” percussion, and her own aim of creating “music that sounds like a painting.” Combined, you’ve got an absolutely gorgeous, intimate work of songwriting, trafficking in themes of compassion and resilience. A really exciting album from an artist that continues to churn out impactful, dazzlingly lovely songs that hit at the heart of the matter.
