Punisher (CD)
Phoebe Bridgers
Amoeba Review
Phoebe Bridgers' intelligent, wry indie folk continues to evolve as she refines her sound on the album Punisher. Her recent side projects like Better Oblivion Community Center have not deflected her love for introspective and haunting songs -- some call it emo-folk -- like the title track. "Kyoto" is the one exception to the consistent bedroom pop atmosphere on Punisher, especially when it soars into a tangible chorus with horns and steady drums.
