Restless (LP)
Palmyra
Amoeba Review
Virginia alt-folk trio Palmyra has dropped their label debut album, Restless, and it’s a doozy. Following up their self-released debut Shenandoah from 2022, Palmyra has crafted ten tracks of alt-country/indie folk flowing with undercurrents of traditional folk and bluegrass. Opulent, heartfelt songs smothered in stark honesty and uplifting harmonies are found throughout, and tracks like “Shape I’m In” and “Palm Readers” details the members’ struggles with mental health. Palmyra keeps it real on Restless, and this is just the beginning for the three friends from Virginia.
