Romantic Images (CD)
Molly Burch
Amoeba Review
Molly Burch’s Romantic Images is a strong contender for the feel good indie pop record of the summer. Heck, maybe even the year. The album is a sonic evolution for Burch, who moves away from familiar themes of anxiety and heartbreak and towards new sonic sensations of confidence and celebration. It’s also her first effort where Burch places production capabilities into the hands of others; in this case, the wonderfully suitable duo Tennis. The result is a smart, upbeat, insanely catchy collection of songs, each seemingly better than the last. Ideal for indie fans who can get down with the shadows but are ready for a bolder, more danceable listening experience.
