Anyone mourning the hiatus of Philadelphia indie band Cayetana has a new aid in their solace: the debut album from leader Augusta Koch's latest project Gladie. Safe Sins finds Koch teamed up with multi-instrumentalist/producer Matt Schimelfenig, who aids in her delivery of raw diary lyrics describing the stages of overcoming loss with an optimistic and confident polish, letting Koch's distinctive vocals shine. Those that admired the depth of feeling in Cayetana's music will appreciate Gladie's attempt to continue that path while pushing forward.
