Ship To Shore (LP)
Richard Thompson
Amoeba Review
Ship To Shore is the excellent, evocative new album from the legendary Richard Thompson. "Freeze" starts the proceedings off with a rollicking, trance-inducing folk number about getting mired in your own indecision. Thompson throws in some gentle country flourishes and keening fiddle to the questing, awestruck "Singapore Sadie." Thompson has always been a world builder, and these songs blend British folk with jazz, Elizabethan era traditions, and 1920s-style cabaret to create fascinating tales and transportive melodies.
