Somebody's Knocking (CD)
Mark Lanegan Band
Amoeba Review

Mark Lanegan may be vocally aging just like a fine whiskey, but that doesn't mean he still can't rock with the best. Having released an album of dirgy drum machine/slide guitar blues with collaborator Duke Garwood in 2018, Lanegan is back with his own band to pick up the pace. Somebody's Knocking continues to blend his love of classic '80s British alternative rock (think Joy Division/New Order) with retro synth flourishes and current day commentary, aided by the likes of Pye Corner Audio's Martin Jenkins and prolific Dutch violinist Sietse van Gorkom. Another welcome addition to Lanegan's sizable discography.
