Someone New (CD)
Helena Deland
Amoeba Review
Helena Deland delivers a solid set of indie folk-pop on Someone New, kept afloat by touches of electronics and stirring percussion. Her voice is sweetly distant and resigned, while the thoughtful production on these introspective and vulnerable songs paints a new landscape for each mood. The title track for example sways and taps along in a mesmerizing fashion. "Lylz" is another highlight for its encouraging lyrics and slightly offbeat rhythm.
