Sons (LP)
The Heavy
Amoeba Review

Straight out of the gate, The Heavy's latest album, Sons, gets down, dirty and funky with the album opener "Heavy For You." The British indie/funk rock/neo-soul quartet keeps the energy and attitude burning throughout with tracks like "Better As One," a James Brown by way of Fela Kuti call for unity, and the snarly, swaggerin' "Fighting For The Same Thing." Album closer "Burn Bright," with its gospel-like chorus, is a chilling, soulful epic. Rarely these days do sincerity and fun go together as well as they do on Sons, so crank it up and let loose!
