Amoeba Review
Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats return with new album, South of Here, brimming with soulful Americana. Tracks like "Heartless" and especially the title track are grand, sweeping numbers with heartfelt vocals. Elsewhere, "David and Goliath" offers a light Beatles-like psych vibe, and "Everybody Wants Something" evokes Paul Simon or perhaps Tom Petty with its catchy, singalong melody. Strong songwriting is evidenced throughout this thoughtful set.
