Spare Ribs (CD) [Explicit]
Sleaford Mods
Amoeba Review
Sleaford Mods target their unique brand of sing/song rap toward the political climate and the pandemic on their 6th studio album Spare Ribs. With Andrew Fearn providing his minimal post-punk meets hiphop beats, and carrying on their tradition of biting observational wit, the likeable duo is joined this time by two guest artists: Amy Taylor of Amyl & The Sniffers on the booming, infectious "Nudge It" and Billy Nomates on the hypnotic, circuitous "Mork N Mindy." Vocalist Jason Williamson cleverly skewers Prime Minister Boris Johnson's chief adviser Dominic Cummings in the groovy "Shortcummings," another highlight of this excellent set.
