Speed, Sound, Lonely KV EP (CD)
Kurt Vile
Amoeba Review
Kurt Vile turns in an homage to the late John Prine for his new release, Speed, Sound, Lonely KP EP. The 5-track EP features two reverent Prine covers and one by "Cowboy" Jack Clement, the shuffling "Gone Girl." The two original tracks are "Dandelions," a dreamy number that makes use of Vile's characteristically loose vocal style, and the simple, twangy "Pearls." "How Lucky," on which Vile duets with Prine, is the clear highlight here, thanks to their intertwined, deep voices and the sweet, light acoustic guitar.
