Stone (CD)
Baroness
Amoeba Review
Baroness doesn't disappoint on their follow-up to the excellent Gold & Grey. Stone delivers well-written slices of hook-driven, progressive metal interspersed with psychedelia and stoner rock. "Last Word" is a satisfying rocker, while John Baizley and Gina Gleason's dual vocals heighten the emotion on a more melodic track like "Shine." "Beneath The Rose" is an intense, dynamic track with intriguing guitar work and haunting atmosphere.
