The Damned Don't Cry (CD)

Amoeba Review
Tiffany Anders 12/01/2010
The pioneers of the New Romantic movement of the early 1980s have unfortunately been lost to time, with bands like Duran Duran and Human League getting a lot of the nostalgia credit. While this group’s career may have been short lived, this collection successfully highlights their far-reaching influence with songs—such as their hit “Fade To Grey”—clearly showcasing them as trailblazers in the movement. Their innovative and bold approach can be heard throughout this concise collection, and it includes such fantastic tracks as their first 1979 release “Tar,” “Visage,” “Night Train,” and “Anvil.”
