The Dark Side Of The Moon Redux (LP)
Roger Waters
Amoeba Review
For the fiftieth anniversary of the legendary Pink Floyd album, Roger Waters wanted to reimagine The Dark Side of the Moon for today. The Dark Side of the Moon Redux is no drastic update: instead, it's a reflective, sometimes haunting look back at the album's themes and how they're still (often disturbingly) relevant today. Waters approached the process with the wisdom and perspective of an 80-year-old, and without any other original members, he recruited some names you may recognize: Gus Seyffert, Joey Waronker, Jonathan Wilson, Jon Carin, Johnny Shepherd, Azniv Korkejian (Bedouine), Via Mardot, Gabe Noel, and Robert Walter. Redux is an excellent addition to the Waters' oeuvre, helping to recontextualize the original album, and to bring its concerns to light once again all these years later.
