The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons (CD)
The Hives
Amoeba Review
It has been eleven years since we last heard from The Hives. On their new album, The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons, the Swedish rockers crank out some seriously scuzzed out headbangers that'll remind you why the band's name became synonymous with gritty, close-to-the-edge, catchy-as-hell rock 'n' roll. Delivered with punk intensity and an eternal teenage snottiness, The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons feels urgent and electrifying — although the urgency you'll feel will be mostly just to get to the dancefloor/mosh pit/your choice to let it all loose. Like all good rock music, The Death is pure good fun, a collection of songs that'll make you want to get wild and live it up.
