Japanese post-hardcore band Envy have regained their frontman Tetsuya Fukagawa, who briefly left in 2016, and added a couple new members for new album The Fallen Crimson. They continue to create dramatic, crushing music helmed by his growls, and the album includes their two singles released without Fukagawa. Moments of doom-laden peace break up the heaviness and give strong dynamics to these tracks, especially on cinematic songs like “A Step In The Morning Glow,” where the vocals drop into hushed speech for the verses.
