A concept album set in the days following WWI, the narrative tracks the unveiling of deep family secrets revealed in the aftermath of the family patriarch's death. It's fittingly cinematic, brewing up moments of creeping darkness and pitiless tension. There are also moments of eerie beauty, brutal death metal onslaughts, and some truly stunning twists and turns. The Last Will and Testament feels like more than an album: it's an event, a world all of its own.
