The Sex Issue (CD)
Aish Divine
Amoeba Review
Aish Divine excels on his new album The Sex Issue, drawing on a myriad of dance music genres as well as Asian and African instruments to address his sexuality, childhood, and other personal topics. "Happy" is lovely and atmospheric chamber pop while "Jungly" is a banger with an interesting, eclectic arrangement. "Common Questions" mocks the ridiculous nature of dating apps with grinding, electronic verses and an unexpectedly joyful chorus. This is the very opposite of bland and predictable pop music - something unique and carefully crafted.
