Longwave's The Strangest Things is getting the reissue treatment in honor of its twentieth anniversary. The band's breakthrough album is the perfect synthesis of post-punk and the early 2000s era NYC scene. It's moody and magnetic listening: opener "Wake Me When It's Over" is essential listening while downbeat ballad "Tidal Wave" is a melancholic earworm. There's much to discover — or rediscover — here. Longwave deserves a resurgence. Let this reissue be a start.
