Sonny Burgess is a bit of an unsung hero in the rockabilly genre, never achieving the commercial success of folks like Eddie Cochran and Jerry Lee Lewis. His talent and reputation as a wild frontman, however, is apparent in all the work he left behind. This cohesive collection brings to light 21 fantastic Sun recordings from his heyday and includes such standout tracks as “Kiss Goodnight,” “One Night With You,” “Red Headed Woman,” and the rollicking “Sadie's Back In Town.” The 1991 Bear Family double disc is by far more comprehensive than this release, but those who are looking to get familiar with Burgess inexpensively should look no further than right here.
