Time Skiffs (LP)
Animal Collective
Amoeba Review
Animal Collective continues to grow, experiment, and expand as artists on their excellent new album, Time Skiffs. On their first album in six years, the band builds on their avant-garde sound, bringing a cohesive quality to these atmospheric art-pop jaunts. It’s a fun and predictably unpredictable ride; much of the joy of listening to Animal Collective is never knowing where you, as the listener, are gonna end up. On Time Skiffs, the band does display a more focused songwriting than on previous albums but the tracks are as grooved out, wild and wonderful, and hallucinogenic as any longtime fan would desire. Turn it up loud and get weird!
