Turn Up That Dial [Coke Bottle Green Vinyl] (LP)
Dropkick Murphys
Amoeba Review
It probably comes as a surprise to no one that Dropkick Murphys have managed to focus on lifting our spirits for their tenth studio album, rather than dredging up the turmoil and tragedies of the past year. Sing-along-ready folk-punk like "Queen of Suffolk County" might be exactly the kind of medicine we need right now, along with the defiant energy of the rockin' "Middle Finger." And for some comfort, the ballad "I Wish You Were Here," with its plaintive Celtic folk notes, addresses our universal sense of loss in a straightforward but elegant manner.
