Post Malone’s Twelve Carat Toothache is full of exciting, unexpected delights. Written after struggling with the malaise of lockdown and grounded tours circa spring 2020, Malone decided to move out of his comfort zone. The sheer star power of his ultra eclectic cast of collaborators is a testament to that approach. Where else can you find Roddy Ricch, Doja Cat, Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold, Gunna, The Kid Laroi, and The Weeknd all in one place? The flow hits hard, the melodies pack emotional depth, and the lyrics tackle issues of alcohol dependency, loneliness, and unease with clear-sightedness. Post Malone went big on this one…and it’s a triumph.
