On Umbilical, Thou sounds more unrelenting and impassioned than ever. These scathing tracks are fast and brutal, imbued with the controlled chaos of sludge metal and the radical conviction of hardcore punk. It's a record about morality, a concept so often co-opted as a facade for some of society's worst actors.
