Versions Of Modern Performance (LP)
Horsegirl
Amoeba Review
Horsegirl’s Versions Of Modern Performance sounds like a rediscovered gem from the heyday of gritty indie and Chicago noise rock. With riffs that would make Sonic Youth proud and angular guitars that could fuel any number of classic post-punk tracks, it’s no wonder that the trio hooked up with producer John Agnello (Kurt Vile, The Breeders, Dinosaur Jr.) to bring this effortlessly cool album to life. Fans of guitar-driven, raw rock ’n’ roll will positively rejoice in Versions—it just has the feel of dive bars, late nights, and youthful excitement. This one deserves to be turned up loud.
