Walking With Thee (CD)
Clinic
Amoeba Review

Clinic’s second studio album, 2002’s Walking With Thee, pointed up the talents of the very focused Liverpool band, especially for those who glimpsed the genius from the band’s first record, Internal Wrangler. Ade Blackburn’s gritty lead vocals accompany the acidic mix of instruments (admirably held in check here) without overpowering. Something eerily similar to the theme music from the movie Halloween lures you into the first track, “Harmony,” and then builds with instrumental beats and a swaggering melodica. At times cacophonous and raw, the album contains a very interesting patchwork feel—some of the tracks seems like blueprints, like first drafts. “Come Into Our Room” was featured on the prime time drama CSI and became the highest charting single from the album. And Walking With Thee is not without danceable numbers, as the galloping bass and drum beats in “Sunlight Bathes Our Home” well proves.
