When You See Yourself (CD)
Kings Of Leon
Amoeba Review
For Kings of Leon's first new studio album since 2016, the once gritty Nashville band continues in the smoother, dreamier vein of that year's release Walls. Caleb Followill's Southern-rock vocals still add a bluesy sound to quietly brooding tracks like "100,000 People," featuring personal lyrics that reflect the album title, When You See Yourself. "Echoing" is a livelier number with some real rock n' roll shimmer, and "The Bandit" offers pretty guitar and a steady beat, both songs anchored by Jared Followill's strong basslines.
