Chicago indie rock band Friko makes a strong album debut with Where We've Been, Where We Go From Here. Opening track "Where We've Been" first calls to mind a melodic band like Travis before edging more toward early Radiohead, while "Crashing Through" ups the latter influence with warped distortion and crashing guitars. Singer/guitarist Niko Kapetan's impressive vocals are both powerful and vulnerable, especially on "Crimson To Chrome" where he wails and lets loose his vibrato. This is a band to watch.
