Austin-based singer/songwriter Will Johnson returns with his sixth solo album, Wire Mountain. Johnson once again envelops his songs in a variety of Americana guises, whether it's the fuzz guitar meets heavy drum beat album opener, "Necessitarianism (Fred Merkle's Blues)," the rich harmonic vocals of "Cornelius" or the melancholic piano and banjo atmospherics of single "A Solitary Slip." An album for some quiet contemplation on a porch swing with a cold beer or two.
