World Wide Pop (LP)
Superorganism
Amoeba Review
World Wide Pop is an appropriate name for the woozy, wonderfully weird new album from London-based Superorganism. Calling to mind the ebullient and unpredictable indie pop of late ‘90s/early ‘00s acts like Gorillaz and Cibo Matto, Superorganism gleefully alternate vocal duties, warp sound, and layer textures to create ultra catchy, futuristic sounds. Guest appearances from the likes of Gen Hoshino, Stephen Malkmus, Pi Ja Ma, Axel Concato, Dylan Cartlidge, CHAI, and Pi Ja Ma add to the tracks’ kaleidoscopic effect; the songs dazzle as they shift form and rearrange themselves into brilliant new shapes. Expect World Wide Pop to conquer airwaves around the globe as soon as it’s released.
