King Krule’s You Heat Me Up, You Cool Me Down is an apt title for a live album that careens enjoyably from high-energy gritty garage to melancholic, doomed down post-punk. The seventeen enervating tracks featured here come to us from a distant land and time, namely the weeks before 2020’s lockdowns kicked in, when King Krule was in concert promoting the release of his latest album, Man Alive! Obviously that tour stopped, but thanks to this new album, the party doesn’t have to.
