Amoeba Review
09/03/2020
The latest from Frankie and the Witch Fingers, Zam, is a real charmer. The album packs in all the ‘60s sounds fans crave — garage, psych, proto punk — then gussies them up with a dash of experimental, prog, and funk. Yeah, you’ll want to turn this one up loud. You’ll revel in the unadulterated power of fuzz and sludge. But you’ll also notice an evolution, a band spreading their wings, about to soar off into slightly unfamiliar territory. And that’s a good, feedback-heavy thing.
