Blood Orange - Biography
Dallas-born, London-raised Devonté "Dev" Hynes is a producer, songwriter and singer who performs under the moniker Blood Orange (also formerly of Lightspeed Champion and Test Icicles). He has written songs for The Chemical Brothers, Basement Jaxx, Florence & the Machines, Sky Ferreira, Britney Spears, Solange and Kylie Minogue.
Hynes' debut album as Blood Orange, Coastal Grooves, was released in 2011 via Domino Records. It was followed two years later by Cupid Deluxe, which saw Hynes collaborating with a series of high profile indie guest stars, including Chairlift's Caroline Polacheck, the Dirty Projectors' David Longstreth, and Clams Casino. In 2014, Blood Orange scored Gia Coppola's full-length directorial feature Palo Alto, based on a story by James Franco.
